One Profound Idea (“we”, “us”) is a daily science-lesson app. This page explains what personal data we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how you can delete it. We collect the minimum needed to run the product and never sell your data.

What we collect

Account data. If you sign in with Google, our authentication provider (Supabase) receives your name, email address, and profile photo from Google, and shares them with us so we can identify your account.

Lesson progress. Which lessons you’ve started or completed, your answers, and bookmarks — so your progress can follow you across devices once you’re signed in. If you never sign in, this stays only in your browser’s local storage and we never see it.

Device timezone. Your device’s IANA timezone (e.g. “Asia/Kolkata”), captured once at sign-in, so we can determine which lesson is “today’s” for you. We never use it for anything else.

Billing data. If you subscribe, our payment processor (Razorpay) handles your card/UPI details directly — we never see or store your payment credentials. We keep only your subscription status and renewal date.

Why we collect it

To run your account, save your progress, show you the correct daily lesson in your local time, process subscription payments, and respond if you contact us. We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it to third parties.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that make the app work: Supabase (hosting your account and progress data) and Razorpay (processing payments). Each is bound by its own privacy and security terms. We do not share your data with anyone else.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and progress data for as long as your account exists. If you subscribed, we keep billing records as long as required by Indian tax and accounting law after your subscription ends. Deleting your account (below) removes everything else immediately.

Your rights & deleting your data

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Go to your account page and choose “Delete my data” to permanently remove your profile, progress, and subscription records, and cancel any active subscription. This cannot be undone.
